An initiative of Ottawa Elementary School District 141
About that postcard you received...
They say the education of our children takes a village, but what they don’t always mention is that every village is better with a dog. Jefferson Principal Nate Pinter, who is beginning his 8th year in his role, and District Social Worker Alecia Ruiz, who’s been with the District for 10-years, are sharing a new friend and eager student this year— Murphy, the Jefferson School therapy dog.
Murphy is on hand and under the day-to-day tutelage and care of Ms. Ruiz and Mr. Pinter, both of whom— along with their families— have spent considerable time with Murphy this past summer.
Let’s join Alecia and Nate, and dig a little deeper into this fun and fantastic story. Listen to their Podcast episode about Murphy and what he means to the kids of our District!
